Yes and no, the idea of a perfect mate sounds heavenly. If you ask a group of people what a perfect mate is you would hear them say. A perfect mate ( woman ) would be a beautiful woman with the perfect figure, who is not only gorgeous but smart and loving and sweet. A girl you can take home to mother. A perfect mate ( man ) would include almost the same thing, but it would look something like this. A man who is gorgeous with a body to match, someone who is sweet, someone who will hold chairs and open doors. Someone good in bed and someone who will take care of me and take out the garbage. Of course you can be humorous like that because the perfect person does not exist.
You can have an idea of the type of person that you want to be with and that is great but sometimes we set out expectations to a level so high that we end up in relationship after relationship because we are looking for something that may not exist. These days with husbands killing wives and boyfriends killing girlfriends, all we should be asking for is someone to love us and to treat us right. Looks are not everything, sure it is nice but beauty is only skin deep. They could be a beautiful on the outside and a mean person on the inside.
We should be asking for someone who will protect us not hurt us. We should be asking for someone to be nice to use and not abuse us. With the way society is turning out these day, you just really know a person at all. Take Scott Peterson for example, he was a clean cut all around nice guy who knew Lacy since college and you know the rest. The question we should be asking is how can we trust anyone. But with time comes trust over a long period of time trust happens you may not wake up one day and say I trust you but it will happen. A perfect mate is someone we can trust, treat us well, protect us and maybe have a bit of good looks thrown in for good measure.
To answer the question, is there a such thing as the perfect mate? The answer is only in our dreams. We want to believe that there is but it just isn’t a reality. Perfection is not something we really know, it is an ideal and not a reality. Many women who have believed at one point that Brad Pitt is perfect to a tee. He is successful, great looking, makes a great living and love kids to death. But we all know what happened there.
We should not try to focus on perfection but more on the people we meet and we need to concentrate on what kind of person they are and if they have more of the reality qualities we want in someone.
